Top 5 New Year Resolutions

It's that time of year again! The days are getting colder, the nights are longer, and there is snow on the ground. It feels like Christmas all over again- except this time it's New Year Resolution season. What should we be resolving to do this year to consistently achieve the goals set for 2022?

We should realize it all starts with a thought. Have you heard of TFAR? our thoughts lead to feelings and our actions are based on how we feel and our results are based on the actions we take. The results achieved reinforce our initial thoughts and become beliefs. These beliefs become stronger, after proving ourselves, again and again, get instilled in our subconscious mind and trigger automatic thoughts that drive our behavior, which we call habits.

We will be able to achieve the goals we set when our habits are aligned with the goals that we set. For example, I cannot be physically fit if I do not develop a habit of working out at least 2-3 times a week. And, I cannot develop this habit if I do not even have the thought of feeling good and being fit. So, everything starts with a thought and how we feel. It is worth working on thoughts that make us feel good which in turn makes us take actions that deliver results that we expect.

Below, I have listed five thought processes I use over the years to achieve the goals I have set.

These thought processes make me feel good and enable me to take actions aligned with the goals.

Love More and Fight Less

Enjoy more and Complain less

Believe more and doubt less

Relax more and worry less

Play more and work less

All the thought processes listed above are aimed at making us feel good. Remember folks, the first step is to feel good about ourselves. We should encourage thoughts that make us feel good. It is very important to shield our thoughts from external influences and constantly uplift our thoughts through reading, listening, and associating with like-minded people. It is a slow process and does not happen overnight. We should strive to become a better person than yesterday.

Also, our existing beliefs cannot be obliterated overnight. We need to consciously work on replacing our thoughts first that lead to feelings, which in turn lead to actions that deliver results which in turn instills belief. So, one thought at a time.

Would love to hear the thought processes that you use to achieve your goals.
